Adding or Removing Addresses

Keeping your saved shipping and billing addresses accurate is a small task that makes a big difference in your online shopping and delivery experience. Whether you’ve shifted to a new home, started using an office address for work deliveries, or want to remove outdated details, regular address management ensures orders reach the right place without delay.

Why Address Management Matters

When your address details are correct, it prevents failed deliveries, avoids return-to-sender issues, and speeds up the shipping process.
For businesses, accurate customer addresses reduce operational costs, improve courier efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction. In eCommerce, even a small error like a missing pincode or incorrect street name can lead to delays or lost packages.

When You Should Add or Remove an Address

You may need to update your saved addresses in situations such as:

  • Moving to a new home or office location.
  • Adding a gift delivery address for friends or family.
  • Removing outdated or duplicate addresses.
  • Changing billing details for payment verification.
  • Updating rural addresses with better location instructions.

How to Add a New Address

  1. Log in to your account on the website or app.
  2. Go to “Address Book” or “Manage Addresses”.
  3. Click “Add New” and fill in: recipient name, street, area/locality, city, state, pincode, and phone number.
  4. Include apartment/building details and landmarks for easier delivery.
  5. Save the address and give it a nickname like “Home” or “Office” for quick selection at checkout.

How to Remove or Edit an Address

  1. Go to the Address Book section.
  2. Select the address you want to change.
  3. Click Edit to update details, or Delete to remove it completely.
  4. Confirm the action so your records stay up to date.

Tips for Accurate Address Entry

  • Always include pincode/ZIP code for proper courier routing.
  • Use correct spelling for locality and city names.
  • Add delivery instructions for hard-to-find locations.
  • Keep both shipping and billing addresses updated to avoid payment mismatches.

For Businesses: Best Practices

  • Offer an easy-to-use address book for customers.
  • Enable autocomplete and pincode validation during checkout.
  • Let customers store multiple addresses for faster repeat orders.
  • Use address verification tools to reduce delivery failures.
  • Allow quick edits for pending orders before they are shipped.
